Our Process
First Step
The ideas for each home often begin while we are still building the one before it. During construction, one of us will often say, “in the next build…” as new ideas come to mind. As we test each home and spend time in it with our family, even the grandkids help us notice details that could function better. We take note of those moments and carry the improvements into the next build.
Construction
During the construction phase, we live on the property. In the evenings, we walk the site, checking on quality, watching for anything that may need adjustment, and making sure the weather is not affecting materials or progress.
Testing phase
Once we move into the testing phase, the process continues. We are often discussing what needs a little more work, what could be improved, and what upgrades should be made. That hands-on experience helps us refine both the current home and the next one. The testing phase is also when we begin designing the next build. Some of the best ideas come during everyday life, while cooking, cleaning, or simply using the spaces ourselves. There is no better way to design a better shower than by standing in one and realizing what could work better.
Design & Build
Tif brings a strong sense of hospitality and care into every design decision. She naturally thinks about how a space will feel for a family or a guest, and that instinct shapes the comfort and function of each home. Every once in a while, I just have to remind her about one important detail: gravity. The stairs, unfortunately, do not float.

Each home comes with a complete day one livable amenities such as lawn care system and all the small projects often that line up after a home build is complete.

Each of our homes are built around the long term care. We ensure every part of our builds are made to last a lifetime and are easily maintained.

Our story began in 2020 during a personal homebuilding project, when rising costs forced us to think differently. Instead of scaling back, we built with greater intention, creating a home that stood apart in both design and livability. That experience became the foundation for Ridgeway Homes.
Today, we build for people who want more than a standard new home. Our clients are drawn to the quiet beauty of the Black Hills region, along with homes that feel refined, low-maintenance, and ready for real life from day one.
